An Ancaster AM Rotary team distributed food today At DeMazenod Door in downtown Hamilton. Over 230 people were fed and provided additional food in an hour and a half.
The Ancaster AM Rotary Club applied for a Rotary District Grant to feed needy people in Hamilton. The Club received $2,000 US from the District and after the Club matched that amount, we had $5,000 cdn to buy food for distribution. We worked in partnership with DeMazenod Door.
Today, August 1, was the first distribution where every individual received a hamburg, a hotdog and other food products such as milk, beans, peanut butter and oranges. There was even food for cats and dogs.
We have another date scheduled in August and one in September.
