David Adames is the former Executive Director of Tourism Hamilton. After spending nine years in that position, David decided that part of being a good leader was knowing when to move on. At the same time, however, he was positive that he wanted to continue working in Hamilton. He is now serving as the President and CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.

Within the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce there are over 1200 members, four divisions, and 12 committees. Its purpose is to effect change to impact business. Members benefit from a strong chamber that advocates on their behalf, discount programs, and networking opportunities.

According to David, there are four platforms that the Chamber will focus on this year. The first is advocating for better mass transit. Second is creating a permanent voice at Queens Park. Third is responsible taxation, and fourth, establishing an arms-length land development corporation.

Within his position, David Adames is dedicated to asking important questions, observing, and listening. It is important that we have a focused chamber, acting as the voice of business in Hamilton.
