On Friday, June 24, 2011, the Hamilton Golf and Country Club hosted the 20th anniversary celebration of the Ancaster A.M. Rotary Club. The night was graced with cocktails and dinner, and concluded with a dance. As Ian Barrie received his Past President Pin, the evening also included the induction of Gavin Morphet as the Club’s 2011-2012 president.

The Rotary Club of Ancaster A.M. was founded in 1991. Many of its charter members remain active Rotarians to this day. Throughout the Club’s 20 years, significant contributions have been made in both local and international communities. As the new club president, Gavin Morphet will continue to challenge his fellow members to "reach within to embrace humanity."

Dr. Gavin Morphet is an Ancaster resident, business owner, and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Ancaster A.M since 2002.  As a Rotarian, he has held various positions over his term including Community Services Chair; Club Administration Chair, Annual Rotary Charity Golf Classic Chair; President Elect, and now President.  As a working professional within the Ancaster community, he knows first hand the benefits and rewards of serving the community in which you reside.  Whether it's sponsoring a youth soccer team; donating prizes for local fundraisers; attending charity events; or annually collecting toys and money for a local social services agency, Gavin is an active resident and supporter of community events, fundraisers, and programs.  He is also the owner and director of Alliance Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic (www.alliancechiroandwellness.com), a multidisciplinary wellness clinic, located in the Ancaster Meadowlands.

As a Rotarian, Gavin has enjoyed countless Rotary events and recently travelled to New Orleans for the annual Rotary International Convention.  He was impressed by the strength, commitment, and efforts of fellow Rotarians worldwide.  Most notable was their collective dedication to provide humanitarian service, and the range of initiatives that exist at a local, national, and international level throughout the world.  As the incoming Club President, he looks forward to working with fellow club members and the community to continue Rotary's tradition of "Service Above Self."
